Water-soluble patina is a partially water-based decorative patina designed to create realistic effects of aging, dirt, rust, moisture, soot, wear, and tonal variations on miniatures, models, backgrounds, props, and other non-porous surfaces. Its formula provides an ultra-matte, natural finish and allows pigments to penetrate crevices, textures, and reliefs, providing more realistic results than conventional paints. Furthermore, it is a non-toxic acrylic product that does not emit irritating fumes.

It's important to shake the product well before each use, as some ingredients may separate and settle to the bottom of the container during storage. If the product has been stored for a long time, you can mix it thoroughly with metal balls. Using a wet palette is not recommended. It can be applied directly or, if necessary, slightly diluted with water. Brushes and tools should be cleaned with water or alcohol immediately after use and prevent the ingredients from drying on them.

It can also be used with an airbrush to achieve smoother transitions, aging effects, and large-scale weathering. Depending on the compressor pressure, the product may require slight dilution before airbrushing. In this case, add a few drops of water and mix until uniformly diluted. Clean the airbrush as usual after use.

Apply to clean, dry, and degreased surfaces, such as plastic, resin, or metal. Use on porous or absorbent surfaces, such as untreated wood or paper, is not recommended. The intensity of the effect depends on the amount of product applied, the number of coats, and the technique used. To remove and activate the product, use cotton pads, a brush, or a sponge dampened with water. This will allow you to achieve a variety of finishes—from subtle and subtle to more intense, irregular, and personalized.

Because patina is partially water-soluble, its finish may change if it gets wet or is handled with wet hands. Therefore, it is recommended to seal the finished effect with a matte varnish to preserve and maintain its natural appearance.
