Anomalies straight from radioactive bomb craters give birth to atrocities that pre-war scientists never dreamed of. Mephisto is a giant worm, a unique synthesis of flesh and steel that poses a threat even to well-armed expeditionary forces. The contaminated crater is a tempting shortcut and a source of resources, but very often becomes a graveyard for newcomers. Entering the territory of the monster means struggling on its terms, with a multitude of traps and tricks long waiting for the victim. It's like fighting an entire army, not a single creature!
Mephisto, designed by Michał Herda, is already the fourth armypack. If you are wondering what an army designed by the man who created the Hexheads might look like, then Mephisto is the answer for you.
In the case of Mephisto, the entire burden of this army's offensive is borne by its staff. As in the case of the Dancer army, he has the ability to attack the enemy staffs, but in the entire army we will not find any unit that could help him in this. The Mephisto Implants in the army provide additional strength and effectiveness of the staff attack. Implants are a new type of unit that allows Mephisto to provide additional strength, initiative, and sometimes additional actions that can be performed on the board. The Transmitter implant allows you to perform the Castade action, the Tail implant allows you to push back enemy units. Thanks to the Jaw Implant, we will even be able to start a battle without having a battle token in our hand.
How strong can Mephisto be? Placing all of the Claw Implants on the board will allow Mephisto to attack with a monstrous strength of 5, and this is still not the end of his possibilities. Such a huge force combined with the Implants placed on the board, practically devoid of defense, creates completely new situations and forces the player to take a new approach to strategy.
Mephisto is ahead of you. Patterns worn over the years will be broken.
