In Tsuro of the Seas, just like in the original Tsuro, players follow a path marked by tiles. Now, however, players compete not only with each other, but with daikaiju that move around the board, devouring tiles, players, and even other daikaiju.
Tsuro of the Seas is played on a 7x7 grid - slightly larger than the original Tsuro - with coordinates drawn along the top and left sides. Each set of coordinates is represented by a gold and blue cube. Players use these coordinates to place the daikaiju before and during the game.
On the active player's turn, he rolls both dice. If the combined total is six, seven or eight, the daikaiju move. (On all other rolls, the daikaiju remains stationary.) If the daikaiju moves, the active player then rolls a single die that will determine the direction of the daikaiju's movement, as indicated by the numbered arrows on the daikaiju tile. If the daikaiju hits another daikaiju, wakes up a tile or a ship, that game piece is removed from the board. If the player's ship is hit, that player is out of the game. The last player remaining on the board is the winner!
