Tsuro

A beautiful and very simple game of tiling in front of your own chip to continue your path every time. The goal is to keep the chip on the board longer than anything else, but as the board fills it becomes more difficult as there are fewer empty spaces left ... and another player's tile can also extend your path in the direction you are unlikely to go . Easy to introduce for new players, Tsuro only takes 15 minutes and actually works for any number of 2 to 8 players.

Tsuro has an Asian spiritual theme - lines depicting "the many paths to divine wisdom" and the game as a whole represents the "classic search for enlightenment". The theme is very light and the game is essentially abstract.

The game consists of tiles with curved lines, a 6x6 grid on which tiles are placed, and a chip for each player. Each player has an arrangement of tiles. On your turn, you do two things: place a token from your hand on the board next to your token and move it as far as possible along the line it is on, until it is stopped by an empty square with no token, the edge of the board, or another player's token. If your token reaches the edge of the board or collides with another player's token, you lose. The object of the game is to be the last player with a chip on the board. The strategy is therefore to try to drive your opponents into yourself or off the board, while extending your own route in directions that will make it difficult for your opponents to do the same.
