Rotary cutter 60mm RTY-3 / G

The RTY-3 / G model is a circular knife with a blade diameter of 60mm. The rotary cutter was invented by OLFA and put into production in 1979. It very quickly became a popular tool for cutting fabrics (and not only), often replacing traditional scissors.

• Cutting with a circular knife is much faster and more accurate than cutting with scissors;

• The material being cut all the time lies flat on the mat, so you can put a pattern, template or ruler on it and cut along them.

The circular knife is a proven tool for cutting fabrics, knitted fabrics, leather, foil and paper. It is especially highly valued among people who sew patchwork, who hardly use scissors.

The unusual features of the circular blade also pose a serious risk of injury. To reduce this risk, the knife is equipped with a blade guard that must be extended when the knife is not in use.

The RTY-3 / G is a knife suitable for most applications. Especially useful for cutting materials in multiple layers, along straight lines and in small curves. Recommended for both advanced amateurs and professionals.

Cutting with a circular knife is only possible on a suitable mat. The blade is made of special, hard tungsten steel and attempting to cut on a surface other than the mat will quickly damage it.

REMARKS

OLFA blades are extremely sharp.

• Use extreme caution when cutting and replacing the blade.
• Worn blades can also be dangerous. You have to remember to properly protect them before throwing them away, e.g. by using containers in which new blades are delivered or by packing them properly.
