Plan, Cover, Conquer!

Keep a close eye on the table and find the best place to play one of your cards—ideally one that allows you to simultaneously deny your opponents points and secure your own! Tacta is a dynamic card game that relies on thoughtful strategy and excellent spatial awareness. During the game, you rotate, flip, and match cards to cover your opponents' shapes with matching squares, triangles, and rectangles. With each turn, more cards appear on the table, increasing the number of possibilities and strategies to consider.

What does it involve?

1. At the beginning of the game, each player receives their own deck of 18 cards. Each deck has different colors, but the shapes on the cards are identical.
2. Place a black and white starting card in the center of the table. The lines on it represent all the shapes and their placements available on the player cards.
3. Some shapes on our cards have dots inside them—these are point values. By playing cards, we can cover those belonging to our opponents, thus depriving them of victory points.
4. During the game, we take turns. In each turn, we select a card from the top or bottom of the deck and then play it, adding it to the playing area.
5. The card must be placed so that one of the shapes on it covers a matching shape on one of the cards already placed. Once placed, the edges of the bottom card must form continuous lines with the edges of the shape on the top card.
6. The card we play can only touch one card on the table. This opens up a wealth of tactical possibilities for blocking access to shapes on our cards.
7. The game ends when all players have played all their cards. Then, we count all the uncovered points on our cards. The player with the most points wins.
