Rummy is a typical game of strategy and chance. Players, following specific, easy-to-remember rules, try to get rid of their blocks as quickly as possible. Whoever thinks up a good strategy, not forgetting to watch the moves of other players and has a bit of luck, will be the winner.
The player whose turn it is must either lay down blocks or, if he cannot or does not wish to lay down, take one block from any pile. A set of at least 3 blocks may be laid down on the table, forming a group or a series. A group consists of 3 or 4 blocks with the same number but in 3 or 4 different colours, e.g. black, yellow, blue and red 8. A series consists of 3 or more blocks with consecutive numbers in the same colour, e.g. black 7, 8 and 9. A player may lay down several sets in one turn, e.g. two groups and one series.
