Nemesis: Retaliation

English version of the third part of the adventure survival horror

Our target is an unexplored base, inaccessible to external scanning devices. We're on our own here, and it seems we're the intruders now… We find signs of struggle and weapons fire everywhere, but no corpses. The first signal appears on the edge of the motion sensor display. And another. And another. I switch my rifle to automatic fire and wait for all hell to break loose. We're well prepared. But so are they.

Nemesis: Retaliation is the third installment in the atmospheric survival horror game, whose main themes revolve around bluffing, betrayal, and the fight against an elusive threat. This version brings what everyone has been waiting for: retaliation against the intruders! Players will have the opportunity to take on the role of battle-hardened soldiers equipped with professional equipment, sent to a base overrun by deadly space monsters. Although they embark on a common mission, each of them also has their own goals, and ultimately, survival will be the most important thing.

What does it involve?

Nemesis: Retaliation is a semi-cooperative game, meaning players work together up to a point, but each player has different, secret objectives to pursue independently. Some involve exploration, others combat, and still others require eliminating an enemy. Players start with two objective cards, but during the game, after meeting certain conditions, they must choose one of them.

The game itself consists of a series of consecutive player turns, during which we first perform actions and resolve their effects, then try to survive intruder attacks, and finally face the effects of a drawn event card and draw a new intruder token. To win, we must not only complete the objective but also survive long enough by escaping the base or hibernating.

Why will you love this game?

• The game is a completely new version of the base game, so it's the perfect way to immerse yourself in the claustrophobic world of Nemesis.
• New mechanics such as overarching mission objectives, the base's life support system and the resulting oxygen loss, and a modular board that changes with each game will certainly interest fans of the series who already know every nook and cranny of the space transporter and the Mars base.
• Six brand new characters with solid combat experience have been sent on this exceptionally dangerous mission: an officer, a military engineer, a scout, a heavy weapons operator, a mercenary, and a paramedic. Each character, of course, has their own unique traits that can help them achieve certain objectives.
