Artists from Club Tattoo, one of the world's most renowned tattoo and piercing studios, designed the original artwork for each card in this colorful deck. Club Tattoo founders Sean and Thora Dowdell, along with Linkin Park's Chester Bennington, sat down with Club 808 to discuss the inspiration behind the deck. Each founder has their own style of tattoo art, including skulls, traditional Japanese, Day of the Dead, and traditional tattoos.
The Bicycle Club Tattoo deck features original artwork on the front, back, and fold of each card. Produced in the USA by The United States Playing Card Company on premium paper with a high-quality finish.
The Bicycle Club Tattoo deck has four different tattoo styles for each suit:
Spades: Skulls - The popularity of skull tattoos likely dates back to ancient prison and gang tattoos, as a skull tattoo symbolizes a person's mortality. We've incorporated the Reaper, the Corpse Bride, and the King of Spades with a skull into this costume.
Karo: Traditional Japanese - Arguably the most popular tattoo style, this style incorporates classic images such as the geisha, samurai, hannya mask, koi, and foo dog.
Clubs: Day of the Dead - Inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead, this is a very popular tattoo style right now. It includes a Mariachi skeleton, a woman depicted as a muerto, and a skull adorned with symbols similar to those found on sugar skulls.
Hearts: Traditional Tattoos - Classic Old School Designs. We cover classic designs from old school tattoo flashes like anchors, sparrows, gypsy, roses, pirate ship, heart, and dagger.
Joker: A woman's face is depicted in a style popular among Latin tattoo artists in the Southwest. They are known for their feminine designs with clown makeup, executed in thin black and gray lines.
